What is HVA?

Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (HVA)

HVA is the new heavy-vehicle accreditation scheme that replaces NHVAS from 1 August 2026. It uses a two-tier framework — General Safety Accreditation (GSA) and Alternative Compliance Accreditation (ACA) — assessed with the PSOE audit model.

Under HVA, a whole-of-business Safety Management System audit (GSA) becomes the mandatory baseline, with optional Mass and Fatigue concessions available through ACA.
